POLYSOMNOGRAM
Also referred to as PSG (Polysomnography) or Baseline Study, this test involves the recording of multiple physiological parameters during sleep. PSG is an overnight test conducted in a sleep center where various metrics are simultaneously monitored, including sleep stages (brain activity), respiratory function, heart rhythm, oxygen levels, and muscle activity, among others.

PAP TITRATION
Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) is a type of polysomnography that involves administering treatments such as CPAP, Bi-level, and ASV (auto servo ventilator) for patients diagnosed with sleep-disordered breathing.

SPLIT NIGHT STUDY
This test combines PSG and PAP titration. Typically, the first two to three hours of the study are conducted as a diagnostic phase, while the remainder is focused on administering PAP therapy according to lab protocol.

MULTIPLE SLEEP LATENCY TEST (MSLT)
This is a form of sleep study conducted during the day, consisting of five nap sessions with a two-hour break between each. It is a standard tool used to diagnose narcolepsy and hypersomnolence.

MAINTENANCE OF WAKEFULNESS TEST (MWT)
This daytime study is a type of endurance test where the patient is asked to refrain from falling asleep. It consists of four trials with a two-hour break between each. This test is typically conducted for patients who work in transportation-related fields or law enforcement.

HOME SLEEP APNEA TEST (HSAT)
An unattended, portable diagnostic sleep study performed at home. The device is picked up from the sleep center, where the patient receives instructions from a technician. The data is recorded on the device and then downloaded to a computer when the device is returned after the night of recording.”

INSPIRE – APNEA TREATMENT
Inspire therapy has been clinically tested for individuals with a body mass index (BMI) of up to 40. Over 90% of U.S. adults fall within this range. Most insurance policies have specific BMI guidelines for Inspire therapy coverage. For more information, consult your provider or an Inspire therapy-trained doctor.
